HMRC announce record Tax Revenues
HMRC have issued their 2014 to 2015 Annual Report and Accounts detailing performance in raising record levels of tax revenue whilst also reducing their costs.
Main highlights:
- a record £517.7 billion tax revenue brought in – £11.9 billion more than last year
- a record £26.6 billion raised in compliance revenues
- reduced costs by £210 million
- 10.2 million Self Assessment returns where submitted by midnight on 31 January 2015
- 1 million employers claimed the new Employment Allowance – 85% of all eligible employers
