What you need to know
Changes introduced on 30 June 2016 mean that all UK companies and limited liability partnerships (LLPs) will now need to file a confirmation statement instead of an annual return.
They should also check with Companies House that all information held is correct or inform them of any changes. Confirmation statements will also need to include information regarding people with significant control (PSC) as well as any changes to shareholders, SIC code or statement of capital.
The confirmation statement will be due a year after either the incorporation of a company or the date the last annual return was filed. Companies and LLPs will have 14 days from the due date to submit the confirmation statement and it will cost £13 to file online and £40 to file a paper version.
Full details of these changes can be found on the Companies House website.
