Companies House warns of ‘phishing’ emails

We have been advised by Companies House of an issue they have with ‘phishing’ emails.  These bogus emails appear as if they are sent from Companies House and, at first glance, can look genuine.

Due to the number of emails being sent, Companies House has now posted a note on their website to reiterate that they will never ask you to disclose personal or payment information by email.

If in doubt

If you are in any doubt that an email you receive from Companies House is genuine, remain cautious and aways follow the advice below:

  • do not follow any links
  • do not open any attachments
  • do not disclose any personal details
  • ignore the email, do not respond to it

Reporting any issues

To help Companies House deal with these fraudsters they have asked that anyone receiving such emails to please forward them to phishing@companieshouse.gov.uk deleting the original thereafter.
