Auto Enrolment – do you know your staging date?
The law on workplace pensions has changed and employers must automatically enrol their staff into a workplace pension, subject to them meeting the necessary criteria.
Your staging date
Your staging date will depend on the number of staff you employed on 1 April 2012. The number of staff you employ now or on the staging date is not relevant.
Key staging dates within the next few months are:
- 1st July 2014 62-89 employees
- 1st August 2014 61 employees
- 1st October 2014 60 employees
Even if your staging date is not imminent, we strongly recommend that you start planning now so you not only understand the implications of AE but that you can better prepare for your staging date.
